Penajournalis.com Bandung, July 5, 2026 – Yayasan Pemulihan Natura Indonesia hosted an international discussion and knowledge-sharing event titled “Evidence-Based Practice in Substance Abuse Treatment in Indonesia: A Collaborative Perspective.” Led by Foundation Chairman Ferdy Gunawan, the forum served as a key milestone in strengthening cooperation and exchanging experiences on evidence-based approaches to addiction rehabilitation services in Indonesia.
The event was honored by the presence of delegates from RMIT Colleagues Australia – Psychology and Social Inclusion, who joined to learn about and discuss developments in addiction rehabilitation services, recovery frameworks, and social inclusion efforts for people affected by substance use disorders in Indonesia.
Speakers included Sam Nugraha (Advisor to IKAI West Java), dr. Lia (representing BNNP West Java), and Alif Ryan Wijaya (General Manager of Yayasan Pemulihan Natura Indonesia). The discussion covered implementation of evidence-based practice, national service progress, institutional challenges, and the critical role of cross-sector collaboration for sustainable recovery.
Participants also included representatives from the West Bandung Regency Social Affairs Office, rehabilitation centers, civil society organizations, and partners working in health, social welfare, and addiction recovery.
In his closing remarks, Ferdy Gunawan emphasized that substance abuse and mental health challenges cannot be resolved by a single institution alone. “We need synergy across government, academia, practitioners, civil society, and recovery communities. This forum marks the start of broader, lasting cooperation to build more professional, evidence-driven, and people-centered services,” he stated.

Agung Sulistio, Chairman of the National Association of Online and Print Media (GMOCT), expressed strong support for the initiative. “This collaboration with international institutions and commitment to evidence-based practice sets an excellent example. Addiction care requires professional, science-backed, and inclusive approaches. We hope this partnership grows and helps more people rebuild their lives and dignity,” he said.
The foundation reaffirmed its commitment to advancing humane, quality rehabilitation services and equal opportunities for all on the path to recovery.
